The Richardson family regularly host forums for the region’s business leaders, featuring national and regional politicians at their West Midlands HQ.  They aim to promote the wealth creating sector of the region, the risk takers who ultimately generate considerable tax receipts that fund public services.

Mr Byrne, MP for Birmingham Hodge Hill and Solihull North, is Chair of the Business and Trade Select Committee.  He was first elected to Parliament in 2004.

More than 30 invited guests heard Mr Byrne give an overview on how the Select Committee scrutinises the policy, spending and administration of the Department for Business and Trade and its public bodies.

He also took questions from the floor, that covered international and national trading issues, challenges to the region’s business confidence and how the midlands might play its part in delivering economic growth.

A range of senior business leaders attended the regular lunchtime event held in Oldbury and chaired by Carl Richardson.

The Richardson family continues to seek management teams with strategic vision and plenty of drive, whether based in the UK or further afield, by bringing capital to underpin growth or sharing their know-how and network of contacts.
