This week Richardson showed their continued support for the UK's armed forces, with a visit to HMS Stirling Castle in Portland, Dorset, to present a donation from the Richardson Brothers Foundation to the ship's welfare fund.

Acquired in 2022 for the Royal Fleet Auxiliary and redesignated HMS Stirling Castle in July 2025, the vessel is at the forefront of the Royal Navy’s mine hunting capabilities, extending the reach and scope of operations to locate and destroy mines.

The ship is home to high-tech equipment, including autonomous surface vessels and uncrewed underwater vehicles, and the Royal Navy teams who operate them.

Stirling Castle can be used to store, prepare, deploy and recover autonomous boats and underwater systems for mine warfare.

Martyn Richardson said:

"At Richardson we are always pleased to champion the Royal Navy's work, and world events show that it has never been more important for the UK to have strong armed forces able to protect our national interests.

"We also know how important it is that the crew on board feel that they have the support of businesses like ours and the British public.

"We hope that the crew on board HMS Stirling Castle will find these funds helpful and that they will go some way towards supporting crew welfare and training."
