Richardson confirm scholarships at the University of Birmingham to support future investment experts

The Richardson Brothers foundation has funded two scholarships at the University of Birmingham, which will be offered to academically excellent students with the aim of encouraging and developing talent in the investment sector.

Founded in 1900, the University of Birmingham was England's first civic university. Part of the prestigious Russell Group, it is consistently ranked amongst the top 100 university's in the world, and is renowned for outstanding teaching and world-leading research.


The Business School, which also operates a campus in Dubai, holds the 'triple-crown' of accreditation from leading bodies, AMBA, EQUIS and AACSB, and delivers teaching that provides students with the insight, ambition and skills to shape dynamic and sustainable business strategies.


Commenting on the scholarships Carl Richardson said:

‘We are excited to partner with the University of Birmingham and the Birmingham Business School in order to provide opportunities for promising entrepreneurs, wealth creators and risk takers, and to support their future contribution to a flourishing UK economy.

'We hope that these scholarships will appeal to ambitious individuals from the Midlands who possess a genuine hunger and eagerness to develop their skills and career opportunities’

 

Dean of Birmingham Business School, Professor Edgar Meyer, added:


‘This is a brilliant opportunity for our students and for strengthening our university’s relationship with the Richardson business.


The University is proud to be an anchor civic institution for the region and, as such, it is vital that we work with businesses like Richardson to deliver impact.’

Successful applicants to the Richardson Family Future Talent in Investments Scholarship will receive a significant contribution towards their course tuition fees, as well as opportunities to apply for careers enhancing experiences at the Richardson business such as summer internship placements.


The award is open to home students, with a preference given to applicants who attended school in the Black Country, or broader West Midlands region.
