Representatives from the Richardson family and St Francis Group were delighted to welcome the MP for Birmingham Northfield, Gary Sambrook, to the site of the Spectrum Logistics Park in Kings Norton today (August 10th), to see the rapid progress that is being made by demolition experts DSM Limited on the existing factory space.
The development is a joint venture between St Francis Group and RCL Partners, the retained advisors to the Richardson family, on the 'Special Employment Zone' designated site on Eckersall Road in Birmingham.
Commenting on the visit, Gary Sambrook, MP said:
"It was great to be shown around by Richardsons and the St Francis Group today on their Kings Norton Site.
While it was sad to hear about the departure of Pilkingtons and GKN from the site, it's great news that this multi-million pound investment in Kings Norton will secure thousands of jobs in the future, delivering world class industrial space for new companies of the future and creating jobs."
The former Triplex, then NSG Pilkington and GKN Aerospace windscreen manufacturing site is being redeveloped into 8 logistics distribution warehouse units totalling 400,000ft² to BREEAM Excellent standard.
Demolition of the NSG Pilkington side of the site has started in earnest with 2 buildings down already with Triplex House and the GKN side of the site following at the end of this year.
Construction of the new units will be completed in Autumn 2023, and the completed development has been forward sold to Tristan Capital Partners LLP on completion.
