The Richardson family regularly host events for business leaders and national and local politicians, promoting the wealth creation sector in the region.
Financial Secretary to the Treasury, Nigel Huddleston MP, was the guest speaker at their most recent event held at their West Midlands office.
With the budget, general and local elections pending, invited guests heard first hand from the minister who is at the very heart of government.
More than 20 guests including representatives from manufacturing, property and corporate finance, as well as the military and public sector attended the event chaired by Carl Richardson.
Mr Huddleston, the MP for Mid Worcestershire, gave an overview of government priorities and the regional economy. He also took a range of questions from the floor that covered global and national issues including inward investment, business confidence, skills and training.
The minister is responsible for the UK tax system, trade policy and input into investment zones and freeports, as well as retained EU law and Brexit opportunities. He has held many government posts since being elected in 2015 including posts in the Department of Business and Trade, Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport and as a government Whip.
Before becoming an MP Mr Huddleston worked for Deloitte and Google.
