With a successful background in business, Charlie talked about his move from entrepreneur to politician and how his lived experience has been so important in supporting his role on the Business and Trade Committee.

He discussed a wide range of subjects including economic policy, tax reform, energy costs and immigration.  He also took questions from the invited guests that covered the welfare system, steel tariffs and exporting.

Additionally, businesses quizzed him on the Liberal Democrat position on trading with Europe, security and the wider political landscape with local elections taking place next month.

Martyn Richardson said:

“We were pleased to welcome Charlie to our Oldbury office.  We firmly believe in the importance of the business community interacting closely with politicians of all political persuasions.  It’s vital that the voices of wealth creators are heard loud and clear.”

The Richardson family regularly hosts forums for business leaders, as well as national and local politicians at their West Midlands HQ, to look at promoting the wealth creation sector in the region.
