Richardson Brothers Foundation donates to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre’s travel fund for schools

The Richardson Brothers Foundation is supporting the Wolverhampton Grand Theatre for the second-year running, providing eligible schools with complimentary coach travel to and from the theatre when they book to see a production.

The Travel Fund offers schools based in Dudley, Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton complimentary travel to the theatre until August 2026. The current criterion for applicants is a minimum proportion of 35% pupil premium on school enrolment.

The travel scheme was created last year in response to feedback from educational establishments who are finding it increasingly difficult to fund extra-curricular visits. It also supports the UK Theatre national advocacy campaign, Theatre For Every Child. A campaign that supports the right for every child to visit a theatre, to experience the joy and opportunity that it can bring.

The Richardson business was founded more than 70 years ago in the Black Country and has grown into a successful international investment company with a business portfolio that is embedded across the world.

The Richardson Brothers Foundation is delighted to donate to Wolverhampton Grand Theatre’s Travel Fund for a second year, providing new opportunities for children and young people in the Black Country so they can enjoy the magic of the theatre.

“Last year the Foundation’s contribution gave 600 children the opportunity to attend the theatre and for most of them, this was their very first experience. We are excited to continue this important initiative.”
