Ongoing support for military families

The Richardson Brothers Foundation has again partnered up with Give Us Time - a charity offering respite breaks to UK military families - providing a donation to fund a number of holiday breaks that allow families to spend time together after having significant time apart due to service commitments.

Give Us Time was founded in 2012 by the former Secretary of State for Defence, Rt Hon Sir Liam Fox, who, having worked as an Army medic, knew all too well the affect that military life can have on service families, and was aware that homecomings after tours of duty are not always as easy as might be expected.

The charity was set up with cross-party support in Parliament, and has a growing support base amongst the public, and impact upon those families which it helps.

The Richardson family has a long history of military service and support the military, with Carl Richardson currently serving as Honorary Colonel of 4 MERCIAN.

Commenting on the support, Operations Director at Give Us Time, Alex Youngs said;

“Military families are the backbone of the armed forces community. Thanks to support from organisations like the Richardson Brothers Foundation we are continuing to grow and support them, this year we are on course to support 300 armed forces families!"

"Over the last year alone Give Us Time has helped over 250 military families, giving them valuable time together, sending them on family breaks across the UK and to Spain, Italy, Bulgaria and France.

"We also relaunched Give Us A Moment, which provides families with family days out and experiences across the UK. We were lucky to send our families to Alton Towers, Winter Wonderland and Edinburgh Zoo to name just a few places."
