The Richardson Brothers Foundation has supported a village cricket club in Shropshire with a welcome donation to help refurbish their club house.
Lilleshall Cricket Club in Shropshire is home to ten different senior and junior teams and is affiliated to a number of county leagues, as well as a venue for school competitions.
However, their club house had seen much better days and the volunteers who run the club are raising funds to improve the facilities for the different community teams and groups who use the building.
They applied to the Foundation who were happy to support their efforts with a donation that has kickstarted their fundraising. It will go towards a makeover of the club house as well as some replacement furniture.
Jan Jennings, speaking on behalf of the Richardson Brothers Foundation, said:
“The Foundation is delighted to support this small but active cricket club in Shropshire. The donation will make a real difference to everyone who uses the facilities in Lilleshall and we wish them well for the future both on and off the pitch.”
Simon Drinkwater, Chairperson at Lilleshall Cricket Club, added:
“At Lilleshall Cricket Club we are determined to remain at the heart of our community and develop our junior section and ladies and girls’ sections even more. To do that we need facilities to match.
“Donations and support from foundations such as the Richardson Brothers are invaluable in helping us maintain and build on the existing facilities and also demonstrate to the membership and community that there is support out there for us to continue our good work. We are all incredibly grateful for the funds and the support.”
