The pre-let and £105m forward funding deal with the Government Property Agency on Plot 9a at First Street in Manchester was crowned as the 'Deal of the Year' at the Insider Media 2023 North West Property Awards.

Held at Manchester Central and compered by comedian Jon Culshaw, the event marked the silver anniversary of the annual property awards and celebrated the key deals and developments in the north-west from the past year.

Commenting on the First Street deal, the judges said:

"When the market turns, it turns quickly so timing is crucial.

A hugely important coup for Ask and for Manchester, to land this deal, against the backdrop of September's 'mini-budget' is was truly special."

Ask then completed an awards 'double' when the One Strawberry Lane development in Newcastle city centre was named as the 'Commercial Development of the Year' at Insider's North-East awards ceremony.

This office scheme is now the HQ for the Home Group, one of the UK's largest providers of social housing. The building is one of only 80 buildings in the world to receive Smartscore certification - the highest possible global accreditation for modern buildings - making it the most technologically advanced office in the north-east.

A Richardson spokesperson said:

"These awards are well deserved recognition for the team at Ask. They continue to be innovative and cutting-edge in all that they do, with a focus on delivering developments that enhance their local environments and communities, and it is great to see their work being recognised by industry peers in this way."
