30th July 2020

Salboy, the developer owned by Betfred founder Fred Done, is pressing ahead with the delivery of Viadux, a 40-storey residential tower in the centre of Manchester after reporting “buoyant” sales enquiries, despite the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

Salboy formed a joint venture with Ask Developments to deliver the residential element of Viadux, which will sit alongside a 14-storey, 240,000 sq ft office next to Manchester Central Convention Complex and the Beetham Tower.

Designed by architect SimpsonHaugh, construction is scheduled to take four years and will be delivered by Salboy’s construction partner Domis.

With preparatory works under way, the developer has pushed the button on launching the apartments for sale, with one-bedroom apartments being marketed at £265,000 and two-beds available from £350,000.

Salboy and other Fred Done-backed vehicles have already delivered several large-scale residential schemes in an around Manchester city centre including Local Blackfriars, which includes 380 homes.

Simon Ismail, director at Salboy, said: “Viadux will be Manchester’s premier address, in the heart of the city, close to the historic Civic Quarter and with great transport connections.

“The demand for ultra-high-quality living in the best city centre locations remains constant, and for so many reasons Manchester continues to be the choice within the UK for both investors and people buying to live.

“Rural properties may be back on the agenda but we are seeing the opposite. People are still wanting to buy and live in Manchester and share in the city’s growth and success.

“This is a long -term investment in Manchester and from the level of enquiries we know many people are very confident in what Manchester will look like in four years’ time and want to be part of it.”
