Sixways cycle ride a huge success PRESS RELEASE: 25th June 2008 Richardsons Capital through the Richardson Brothers Foundation were pleased to support Lord Digby Jones of Birmingham in his initiative to raise funds for three charities, Special Effect, the Matt Hampson Trust and the Dan James Trust supporting Spinal Research. Lord Digby Jones was celebrating the 10 th Anniversary of his Land’s End to John O’Groats bike ride by initiating End2End – The Sequel: the saddle fights back! With celebrities and leading sports personalities cycling from Sixways Stadium home of Worcester Warriors to Leicester Tigers’ Welford Road, Leicester on Friday 13 th June 2008 a total of 70 miles. All participants were required to donate £1,000 as their entry fee. Pashley Cycles provided a number of machines including reserve cycles, Land Rover a support vehicle with Cadbury supplying essential chocolate and drinks. The initiative raised over £50,000 for these very worthy causes and provided a much needed highlight on the work being carried out to help disabled people communicate more effectively. Martin Corry, currently Captain of England and Leicester Tigers was pleased to sign a couple of rugby balls for Richardsons, these will be used for future charity events.
